Dear Client and Partners,
The Belgian authorities have announced, at short notice, that road tolls will increase with effect from 1 July 2026. At the same time, the Flemish Region is introducing a new CO₂-related road toll.
Although the charge is regional, it will affect transport to and from Belgium, as the majority of traffic to and from the southern part of the country (Wallonia) passes through Flanders.
The changes will also impact transport to and from northern France. The following French postcodes are affected: 02, 08, 10, 21, 25, 27–28, 41, 45, 51–52, 54–55, 57, 59–60, 62, 67–68, 70, 75–78, 80, 88–95.
As a result of these increased road tolls, GTL will adjust the EU Road Tax surcharge with effect from 1 July 2026. The updated EU Road Tax rates will be communicated separately and will apply to all relevant shipments from this date.
Should you have any questions regarding these changes, please do not hesitate to contact your usual GTL representative — we are always happy to assist. We would also like to take this opportunity to wish all our customers a wonderful summer.
